The Heart of Caregiver Training

Over the past four years, we have proudly trained 30 caregivers to become Home Care Aides (HCAs). These individuals have taken on caregiving roles with courage, compassion, and dedication, providing valuable service to the community. Our HCA-CNA bridge programs, which have successfully trained 11 caregivers to advance their careers, show how growth opens new opportunities. Graduates of the program earn certification and receive a $2 wage increase at Jamie’s Place — recognition of their hard work and a step toward financial stability.

CNA training is more than just a step forward; it’s a crucial requirement for anyone pursuing nursing. By offering CNA training locally, Jamie’s Place equips caregivers with practical, hands-on knowledge that builds confidence and prepares them for the next stage of their careers. This training is more than an educational milestone — it’s a gateway to sustainable career growth, ensuring caregivers have the skills to succeed in nursing programs and beyond.

This fall, we’re launching our third bridge program, with five Jamie’s Place caregivers enrolled and plans to open it to the public. Through our partnership with the Methow Valley Elder Care Coordination Network, a four-year Rural Healthcare Grant funded by HRSA, we are expanding these opportunities beyond Jamie's Place, making training more accessible and inclusive across Methow Valley and Okanogan County.

A Vision Realized: The New Training Center

As we identified barriers for caregivers accessing local training, we knew we needed to take action. With the expansion of Jamie’s Place, our new dedicated training center will remove these barriers. Caregivers will no longer have to travel far to get education — this center will serve as a hub for growth and opportunity in our community.

Here’s how the training center will make a difference:

  • Continuous Skill Development: Caregivers will benefit from ongoing training that improves their skills, boosts confidence, and maintains the highest standard of care.

  • Partnership with Local Schools: We will work with high schools to inspire young people to explore healthcare careers and develop a future workforce passionate about caregiving.

  • Community Support: Local families will receive specialized training, empowering them with the skills to care for their loved ones at home with dignity and compassion.

  • Investing in caregivers and community members makes this training center a beacon of hope, where care meets opportunity and knowledge meets compassion.

Empowering careers and shaping the future

Jamie’s Place is not just helping caregivers grow; it’s creating pathways to lifelong career success.

  • Bridge Programs: From HCA to CNA, these structured courses offer clear paths for advancement, with financial support to make the journey easier.
  • CNA to RN Education: Mentorship, scholarships, and aid empower CNAs to pursue nursing degrees and reach long-term professional goals.
  • Leadership and Specialization: We actively find ways to help caregivers advance into leadership roles or develop specialized skills in caregiving.  A Community Mission

Our vision extends beyond Jamie’s Place — building a future where caregiving is both a fulfilling career and a meaningful calling. Growing recruitment efforts at the local, county, and state levels will attract new caregivers to Methow Valley and Okanogan County, while creating temporary housing solutions will help make their transition smoother.

Your Support Changes Lives

Jamie’s Place is growing — not just in size, but in heart and impact. The new training center, expanded programs, and career opportunities mark the next chapter of caregiving in our community, and we invite you to be a part of it. By supporting these initiatives, you help caregivers become their best, empower families to care for loved ones, and ensure our community remains a place where compassion and connection are prioritized. Together, we can build a future where caregiving is not just a job, but a legacy.

Jamie’s Place: Where Caregiving Meets Community

Caregiving isn’t just about tending to needs — it’s about love, connection, and making every moment count. At Jamie’s Place, this belief guides everything we do, and as we expand, we focus on equipping caregivers with the skills and support to deliver outstanding care while building meaningful careers. With the exciting growth of Jamie’s Place, including the addition of a dedicated training center, we are taking this mission to new heights — together.
